Women Empowerment means empowering women educationally, socially, economically, politically, psychologically. Women Empowerment refers to educating women and helping them build an identity of their own.

It promotes the ability of women to determine their own choices and their rights to influence social change for themselves and others to be independent. 


It empowers women to make decisions and creates power in women to live respectable lives in society. The empowerment of women is important for the development of society.

Empowerment involves raising the status of women through education, raising awareness of Literacy, and also giving training related to defense.  



Need For Women Empowerment 


  1. In the olden days, men were considered to be leading members of the society I,e family. They were responsible for earning a livelihood and will take decisions regarding family. Women were responsible for doing household work and the upbringing of children. There was no involvement of women in decision-making. 


  1. As women were not allowed to make decisions, women's empowerment helps them to make their own decisions.


  1. Women are also discriminated against by gender as they are paid less compared to men for the same work done.


  1. Domestic violence and crime against women are major problems. Men beat up their wives and abuse them and were afraid to speak.


  1. Thousands of female babies are killed either in the womb or right after their birth. Women Empowerment empowers women the right to live. 


This is why Women's Empowerment needs to empower women to speak for themselves and to take decisions on their own.


How To Empower Women


  1. Work opportunities and Employment can help create Empowerment for women. 


  1. Education for girls must be made compulsory so that women can make a life for themselves.


  1. Women must be given equal opportunities in every field, irrespective of gender.


  1. They must also be given equal pay for the same work done.


  1. Education empowers women to make choices that improve their children’s health and survival skills. It also empowers women to make decisions on their own.


  1. We can also empower women by abolishing child marriage.



The government has come up with various schemes such as “ Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Yojana”, sukanya samriddhi yojana, etc to empower women. It is not only government but we as individuals should empower women by abolishing social evils like the dowry system and child marriage.

The Empowerment of women is a very important thing that all of us should undertake. This is because empowering women is equal to empowering the whole country and generations to come
